10 Best Cities To Be a Digital Nomad Post Quarantine

The term digital nomad might sound cliché to some, but it’s predicted by 2040 there'll be an estimated 1.1 billion of us roaming the planet!! (I know right!?!)

More and more people are becoming restless with the standard 9-5 model. In fact I believe, quarantine has only sped up the process of proving to most office workers they DON’T need to be location dependant anymore.

While being "location-independent" sounds glamorous it does require discipline.

The beach laptop pic may make a few friends jealous, but it doesn't accurately portray the impractical aspects of working in different time zones, and internet connections around the world.

You think you can just plop down in any city, plug your device in and have instant success. Oh, how many times that has not been the case for me!

As my number of digital projects increased, I finally made the move to Bali, where I fell in love with the nomadic lifestyle.

Work capability is a HUGE factor for me when deciding on my destination. Probably the first thing I ask before anything else abroad is the WI-FI password and HOW fast is the connection.!

Three major factors to consider when deciding on your spot. (Of course, paradise always sounds perfect but, it’s not the most important factor.)

Canggu, Bali

Bali ticks all the boxes. Co-working spaces (shared offices for digital nomads). In Canggu there is a full-range of these spaces. Most have decent internet, power-points and are reasonably priced, but it's worth shopping around for one that best suits your style.

The cost of living in Bali varies, depending on your lifestyle. Beach parties, mopeds and cocktails will all deplete your savings, or you can choose to live frugally. eat at Warungs and stay at an affordable guest house. It's entirely possible to live cheaply or lavishly — the choice is yours.

Bali is beautiful and inspirational. There are also other nearby islands and cities you can easily visit, making Bali a great home-base from which to explore so many exciting and unique places.

Tulum, Mexico

If you’re an authentic tacos and margaritas lover… plus beach life is not enough. This spot is for you .Imagine adding in a fantastic workplace too! The city's is becoming a HUGE trend for digital nomads because it's affordability, has great meetups for creatives and activities.

While showing you the best of Mexican culture with more of a low key vibe. Not to mention how close you are to plenty of the other most popular towns/cities along the gorgeous Caribbean cost line.

Lisbon, Portugal

Luxurious coworking spaces, bohemian cafés… There's also the beginning of 'Creative Artistic Hubs', which aim to stretch your creativity to the limit.

These hubs are located in art galleries, museums, pubs and even teach Parkour and free-running. You won't struggle to find inspiration in Lisbon.

The cost of living is a little more expensive than Asia, but the sheer amount of fun you can have here is worth every penny. Lisbon could lose some of its natural, local charm, but right now, it's a digital nomad's paradise!!!!

Chang Mai, Thailand

The largest city in northern Thailand! north of the capital Bangkok, Chiang Mai is a UNESCO World Heritage site. A mix of temples, city and nature, Chiang Mai should definitely stir those creative juices.

Chiang Mai might not be considered the prettiest city in Thailand, but the cost of living is hard-to-beat. It's certainly one of the cheapest on this list. from accommodation to street food to bike hire to co-working spaces. Buenos Aires, Argentina

Dubbed as one of the prettiest cities in Europe, it's also very cheap compared to western Europe.

Plenty of cafés with fantastic Wifi and an affordable co-working spaces, and unlike the other listings above, safety is hardly a thing to ever worry about

Barcelona, Spain

You will never get bored in this city! The night to day play life is endless. The co-working spaces are plentiful… They actually have a 'Barcelona Silicon Valley!!!

Barcelona’s budget is definitely more for an established working remotely professional, successful nomads who are done with the madness of Asia, the uncertainty of South America, and just want to be somewhere that offers the top of everything under the sun and palm trees of Europe’s best history and cuisine.

Prague, Czech Republic

Accommodation isn't the cheapest in the world, but you can definitely still find bargains through either Airbnb or renting privately.

The community for shared working spaces seems to be small, but there are so many cute cafes, set up especially for nomads. And with many foreigners studying abroad there’s endless options to meet people..

The only downside with this is that it gets super busy in the summer, finding a quiet spot in peak months can be tough.
