Hidden Gem Hotels for Amazing Photos in Tulum
It’s no secret that one of the major appeals to vacationing in Tulum is the mesmerizing beach. With that comes the plentiful range of gorgeous “bohemian-inspired” beachfront hotels.
Fit for any wanderluster’s Instagram feed.
Tulum’s beach is without a doubt the most beautiful I’ve seen along the coast of Mexico’s Caribbean.
Spend a dreamy afternoon out basking in the sun with elegant decor, gorgeous photo backdrops, and of course, white sandy turquoise views.
So where do you go?
If you love exclusiveness there are 5 “off the beaten path” hotels, you gotta visit.
Akkunn Hotel
I had to add this one because it’s quite new, and totally off the radar for many tourists.
Located at the beginning of the Hotel Zone (an easy bike from the Centro) Akkunn is a hidden slice of paradise.
With a stunning infinity pool open to all customers, and a hanging swing that makes for the perfect Instagram feed shot.
Kanan hotel & Spa
This luxury adults-only beach resort is a few years old… however, they don’t use social media to promote the property which adds to its exclusivity! Under the same umbrella as Ahau Collection.
It is a “boho jungle wooden masterpiece!” They have all the artwork and backdrop decor to please any “Tuluminati” photoshoot.
Kanan has rooftop nests available for dinner (highly recommend) because it’s one of the only places I know of where can experience sunset on the beach. If you’re around in the day grab breakfast or lunch and take in the beach views from their beachfront cabanas or private nests too.
Kai Tulum
I fell in love with this hotel in my first few weeks living in Tulum! It’s brand new and, the staff + service is amazing - Under the Ahau Collection also.
The atmosphere is a charming blend of “Laguna Beach Meets Tulum.” Kai’s decor is light, earthy - a very modern ‘tiki beach shore vibe.’
Take photos between the cute beach bungalow or at their beachfront restaurant and bar. Go hungry, the food here is phenomenal.
Diamante K
The photo opportunities are endless here, with their private cove beach and the “secret garden” that offers a stunning backdrop of Tulum’s world-renowned crystal blue ocean.
Their restaurant; Casa Maria gives you full access to the property if you dine there. This restaurant in my opinion has one of the best beachfront dining experiences with seating right along the coastline.
Explore and capture a wide range of pictures with different colors and vibes for each shot.
Posada Margherita
Is a boutique hotel restaurant that appears so hidden from the street side. You’ll know you found the place when you see their road sign “Peace, Love, and Pasta” outside.
The only reason I stumbled across it was that my friend randomly went into it.
It reminds me so much of Alice’s Wonderland! The walkway into the venue from the street is a gorgeous garden that leads to the restaurant and beach in the back.
