The Most Instagramable Locations in Alberta’s Rockies

From Canmore to Jasper… Alberta is seriously home to some of the MOST mountainous view points, breathtaking shades of green and blue for days… and how could I not mention all the glacier water-gatorade-blue-coloured lakes.

I can’t believe I haven’t written this blog yet! After constant requests from travelin’ babes around the world for the hottest spots to hit up around my hometown, Calgary, AB.

Here it is, the most Instagrammable hotspots in the Rocky Mountains comin’ right at you.

Johnston Canyon

You will see not one, but two, stunning waterfalls cascading down the mountain on this quick hike, standing merely metres away from the action. Up for a trek? There’s an 11.7-kilometre trail leading you up to the Ink Pots – another hidden gem.

Lake Louise

Home to the world-famous Fairmont Chateau and countless hiking trails leading right from the shore’s edge, Lake Louise will take your breath away. The bright turquoise water surrounded by high peaks and endless forests will leave you breathless.

Moraine Lake

Found 14 kilometres up the mountain from the Village of Lake Louise, Moraine Lake attracts people from across the world with its vivid emerald tone. With the Valley of the Ten Peaks as its backdrop, make sure your camera is fully charged for this stop whether you’re hiking or renting a canoe.

Canmore Railway Tracks

This historic bridge over the Bow River connects Canmore to the mountainous landscape beyond. Follow the local walking path through the town of Canmore to explore the river’s edge and snap your pic here.

Ha Ling Peak

This exceptional hike is found nestled just behind the town of Canmore. Scramble up the mountain over rocks and roots to arrive at arguably one of the most rewarding peaks in the Rockies. Gaze over the town of Canmore and the vast mountain range that surrounds you.

Peyto Lake

Remember those crisp blue lake photos I’ve been posting on my Insta feed? Yep, it’s Peyto Lake. This gorgeous glacier-fed lake is a must-see when visiting Alberta.

Jasper Road

Banff To Jasper on the Icefields Parkway is OMG- gasping left, right, and center! You will need to stop more than twice to take photos along the way I can assure you this!…. So many amazing sights along the way! It has to be one of the most beautiful drives in the world, Banff to Jasper via the Icefields Parkway.

Mount Norquay

One of the most incredible adventures I’ve ever done in Alberta! The Via Ferrata tour at Mount Norquay. This is one for the bucketlist without doubt. A 6 hour adrenaline-fulled activity that offers some of the most epic 360 views you will find of Alberta’s Rockie Mountains. Scaling the mountain while taking in these views this is not for the faint hearted.

Well, there you have it! Think I missed a spot that needs to be mentioned?

I’m always on the hunt for my next Insta worthy location! Comment below and tell me what you think?
